Complimenary breakfast was fabulous.
Beautiful hotel. Great room service and food. Breakfast buffet excellent
The front desk staff and doorman were young and inexperienced. Not paying attention to guests around them. Not helping with bags, etc. or taking complaints seriously. Breakfast buffet mornign hostess was extremely rude. In spite of complaints, nothing done by staff or manager. Disappointing from that perspective!
The ambience of the foyer and general feel of the hotel.
The room although clean, was showing signs of fatigue. Cracks in the ceiling, carpet frayed and pulled out from the wall along the borders showing the carpet tacks. The Ice Machine on the 6th floor was not working.
The amazing buffet breakfast and the fact that it was open until 11:00 am. I also liked the noon checkout option. I liked the free coffee and tea service 24 hrs, although I didn't use it this time. I loved the look of the opulent lobby and the grandness of the hotel. I liked that the little store is open late. I liked that my hotel room was very quiet.
I love the hotel but it does need some updating in the rooms (carpets and bathrooms; messy cords for the tv set etc. But the rooms are nice and large and wonderful amenities in the room (the robes, lights in the closet, extra pillows and blankets are all wonderful).
The building itself was the highlight of the stay. It was wonderful to be able to stay in one of the grand railway hotels in Canada.
The drink machines are on each floor to save you the trouble of running downstairs for a quick drink. None of the machines on my floor or the floors nearby were working properly. I found that inconvenient.
Beautiful king suite was perfect. Sunday brunch was excellent, a real gourmet food. Variety was great.
I got lost when coming back from the swimming pool. Door to the skywalk was not marked as "back to the hotel lobby". I ended to some other building and needed assistance to go back.
The hotel has soul, spirit, and an important historical story. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the breakfast brunch was impressive
The hotel is tired, very tired. Someone please close the hotel and stArt a massive renovation. The rooms are in dire condition
The fact that you can still find an authentic historical place. Not very often you can go back in time and live like it actually was.
Beautiful, elegant hotel, impeccably maintained. Excellent location Staff responsive, friendly, approachable, knowledgeable Amazing, outstanding breakfast....better by far than any we have experienced, and we are well-travelled
Internet service was sporadic, although the staff was immediately responsive.
I loved the building. Interested in the history and felt there should be more info/display of the rich history. Carpet in room was poor and notified staff who came immediately and said would have to get contractors in and offered room change - which was declined. Breakfast and staff outstanding.
Should have an exhaust fan in bathroom. No bedside reading light or light switch by the bed to turn off main light. Bottled water expensive.
The beds are great, the breakfast is superb.
Due to an apparent glich, the hotel would not honour the price arranged through Booked.net and I had to pay more. I also was very disappointed to find that WiFi came at an extra cost.
We loved the huge shower head and cosy robes. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! The staff was welcoming and very helpful and we appreciated that very much. We would highly recommend The fort Garry Hotel.
Great for its Victorian feel!
Astonishing architecture and decorations in public spaces.
Food was surprisingly limited for such an apparently upmarket hotel. Good single malts though
Everything was vey nice
